DVD-R & CD-R ARCHIVING of GRAPHIC IMAGES

 image

Graphics Files especially high ppi scanned photo images use up quite a few
Mega Bytes; typically 55MB for an 8bit scan and 110MB for a 16bit scan so storage is a must. Here are some recommendations.
DVD-Rs & CD-Rs are more easily damaged than manufactured DVDs & CDs.
Treat them carefully and back them up on a regular schedule.
If used often then make two copies and when the working copy becomes damaged replace it with the second copy after backing it up.
Plan to recopy DVD-Rs & CD-Rs used only for Archival storage every 5 years.
